Who we are
About
Bet Bulletin covers the business of British betting: the regulator, the department, the trade bodies, the consultations, and the consumer-protection infrastructure that sits underneath the UKGC-licensed market. We read the statutory instruments, the licence conditions, and the consultation responses — with, frankly, more enthusiasm than is entirely normal — and report what the documents actually say rather than what the press releases claim they say.
What we are not: a tipping site. No odds, no picks, no bonus codes, no operator sign-up funnels. We cover the industry for people who work in it, study it, regulate it, or report on it — and for consumers who want to understand the machinery behind the product. Coverage is of the licensed market, for an 18+ readership.
How we're funded — plainly
Bet Bulletin is an independent, commercially supported publication. We may earn affiliate or advertising revenue from links on the site, and sponsored posts, where they run, are disclosed at the top of the post. Revenue never dictates conclusions: no score, verdict, or editorial position is for sale, and our editorial policy and advertise page set out exactly where that line sits.
Who writes here
The editor is Ellen Boyd — a disclosed house pen name maintained by the editorial team, in the tradition of publications that publish under house bylines. Reviews and assessments run under the editor's byline; news runs as "Staff, Bet Bulletin". We do not publish invented biographies or credentials — the full byline model is stated in our editorial policy.
How we assess things
We review policy instruments, schemes, and industry initiatives the way trade press should: against the public record. Specific claims are attributed — "per the regulator", "as publicly reported", "the consultation asks" — and anything we cannot trace to a document or a published source is hedged or cut. Scores are judgments with stated reasoning, every review carries genuine cons, and when we get something wrong, we correct it and say so. Corrections reach us via the contact page.
